Grianail
Grianail self catering cottage is situated approximately mid-way between Bowmore and Port Ellen and a just a short walk from the Big Strand. It features two bedrooms, dining kitchen, sitting room and bathroom (WC, wash hand basin and shower over the bath). The sitting room enjoys truly outstanding views over Laggan Bay towards Ireland and has plenty comfortable seating, along with large TV and open fire although along with all the other rooms Grianail enjoys central heating.
One bedroom has one double-size bed and one single bed with the other bedroom having two single size beds. The large, dining kitchen has cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer along with all the other usual kitchen appliances.
Grianail has a mature garden to enjoy relaxing and outdoor dining. Grianail has 24 hour free Wifi access and plenty free parking immediately outside your garden gate. From £550 per week which includes all bedding, towels, heating and electricity.
20 Flora Street
20 Flora Street is centrally situated just off Main Street in Bowmore. It is an attractive, semi-detached corner house with three bedrooms: Room 1. One double bed and one single bed. Room 2. Two single beds. Room 3. Two single beds. There is one room upstairs with WC, wash hand basin and large walk in shower.
On entry there is a small front porch where you can leave footwear, golf bags, umbrellas, bags etc. On entering the house, the 'dining kitchen is to your right, with dining table and chairs, cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier and all the usual kitchen appliances.
Directly facing the front door is the relaxing sitting room with ample easy seating and large TV, along with 24 hour free Wifi access. There is a semi-paved driveway for off-street parking, however there is usually plenty of free on-street parking if you prefer.

How to get here
By Car from Glasgow:
This journey should take about two and a half to three hours, depending on the amount of stops, and is a very scenic drive. Take the A82 from Glasgow towards Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Next take the A83 near Tarbet passing Rest and be Thankful towards the lovely town of Inveraray. Both Rest and be Thankful and Inveraray are beautiful places to stop and enjoy the magnificant scenery. Inveraray is famous for it's castle and Inveraray Jail. Continue on the A83 following the shore line of Loch Fyne towards Lochilphead and finally Kennacraig. The Kennacraig ferry terminal is located only four miles outside Tarbert, a picturesque little town and port. The ferry terminal is easily missed but it's clearly signposted.
By Bus:

By Ferry:
Caledonian MacBrayne operate the two hour crossing which runs throughout the year, including Sundays, with additional sailings during the summer season. Ferries arrive eather in Port Askaig or Port Ellen depending on the timetable and weather conditions. It's advisable to book ferries in advance, specially in the summer season via Caledonian MacBrayne's website.
By Air:
Loganair runs a 35 minute scheduled service from Glasgow to Islay. This is the quickest way and can provide spectacular views of the islands and Kintyre. For information on schedules or bookings check loganair.co.uk
